Exact Change, please!

We visited the MTA's Transit Museum in Brooklyn, with Sophie & Nat. Old school buses & trains, in a real live (tho no longer running) subway station. They've renovated since the last time we were here: now with AC, at least in parts.

Marmee Summer Camp

Zara tells me that she enjoyed Marmee Summer Camp very much. This is despite it being truncated from three days to about one without mom & dad. The remaining two days were a bonanza of fun, mostly with Marmee, but with some mom & dad thrown in for extra good times (mostly naps).

Pizza!

These pictures are actually from about 2 weeks ago (at camp), but the topic of pizza is very immediate in our family right now, so I figured I'd share them today.

Important pizza facts: Wes made pizza on the grill last week. It was very, very tasty though very, very burnt. Very. We ended up eating only the top part (delicious) and sometimes scraping off the burny bits a la what you'd do for burnt toast (good but not great). Meanwhile, Zara very successfully made pizza at school. I mean camp. One of the great things about camp/school is the giant variety of activities the kids can do - and many of them are cooking projects they then eat for snack!

Not to be outdone by Zara's pizza success, Wes made pizza on the grill again tonight, and this time it was not burnt and absolutely fantastically delicious on all counts. The crust was bready and yum, the toppings were varied and lovely, the cheese was nice and melty, and the base was either pesto or spinach. How could you go wrong, really? And best of all? Not burnt!!

Writing & Drawing

For the record, Zara drew this picture & wrote that word while she was (just barely) still 2.

Twins!

Which is which? Only their hairdresser knows!

(other editor's note: wes has adopted the SNL model of humor - if you keep saying it, it gets funny, eventually... see his first attempt )
