Old Rag

A series of fortunate events meant Wes and I got to hike Old Rag (sans kiddos) for his birthday. It was a fantastically fun rock scramble, and a good overall adventure, though the fire road back to the parking lot at the end was a bit of a snoozer compared to the rest of the hike. Even awesomer, both kids slept over at friends' houses for the night - making it our first 100% kid free evening since Zara was born! Crazy! Thanks to all of the friends who made such an awesome day possible. Happy Birthday, my Wesley love!

Superhero Birthday Party

Amity's BFF Amaya turned 4 this past weekend. We celebrated with a super hero birthday party. Amity dressed up as WordGirl, Zara was "Fire Girl", and the last picture shows the 2 magnificent As in all of their super hero glory.

It's Log!

Our last episode of "Kids and Dad gone wild while Mom works" brings us to a giant log on the Monticello Trail. I feel like there's a joke here, about how many kids can you fit in a very large log... but I will just leave that out there.

Grand Caverns

Thursday's installment of "Fun things we did without Mama" finds our protagonists at Grand Caverns. While no actual cave photos are displayed in this blogpost, apparently the kids found some horns in the visitors' center. Don't ask me, I wasn't there. I was working.

Frontier Culture Museum... without me!

Wes and the girls has a fun filled week without me, as I was working over their Spring break. Here we see Zara working on a spoon with a draw knife at the Frontier Culture Museum. I spent hundreds of hours there while conducting my dissertation research, and I'm fairly certain this is the only time they've all gone there without me.
