You go, girl!

This is from November of last year. It came out very dark, so it's been lightened. I'd post pictures, but we haven't taken any lately. Shame on us! Oh, and she's saying "Moo!"

Hysterical Williamsburg

(Warning: I'm going to "go on".)

For Jo's spring break, we first drove to Brooklyn to visit the Gordon Brombergs. She's taking a "museums" class, so for her home work, we patronized (I didn't want to use "visit" twice) the Brooklyn Children's Museum and the New York (really Queens) Hall of Science. Zara was completely blown away by the immense, albino Burmese python. Apparently, when you're an albino python, that means you're very bright yellow, like neon. And 200+ pounds. She mostly slept through the New York (actually in Queens) Hall of Science. The architecture in the vicinity is pretty cool, left overs from the 1964 Worlds Fair.

Then we drove to Williamsburg, VA, home of the famous Hysterical Williamsburg. If you're not familiar, it's the old capitol of Colonial Virginia, mostly restored to its condition in the weeks before the American Revolution (or as the Blue Haired Ladies like to call it "The Conflict of Limey Aggression"). Jo won a scholarship to attend the Virginia Association of Museums annual conference. So, while Jo was rubbing elbows with the movers & shakers of the museums in Virginia (and DC, and Maryland, and some Limeys, too!), Zara and I wandered (and let me tell you, toddlers do wander) between the (free) hotel and the "historical site". Here she is playing on the vintage swing outside the working foundry. Note how swings used to be very hard to utilize, often dumping their passengers right on the ground in a very surprising way.

All said, it was quite lovely. You should give it a try.

First Lolly

Jo says that this is not her first, but I don't recall any before this (she says that's because of brain damage, but I don't recall any brain damage).

Rosemary Chickpea Chard Tomato Soup

We finally sold the Yellow House. To celebrate, Jo & Zara ate left over soup!

Ragged Mountain

We went walking in the Ragged Mountain Natural Area. Zara walked about a mile of the 3.5 mile loop.
