Skiing Selfie

Kids are in ski lessons. Wes and I got to go ski the tougher terrain on our own. We should look happier (really, we were quite excited) but apparently the logistics of mountaintop selfies can be daunting.

Learning to Ski

This winter we (the whole family) chaperoned 2 of the Middle School Ski Club's Friday visits to Wintergreen. As a result, Zara has learned to ski and Amity is well on her way. At age nearly 4, a key element of skiing, as pictured here, is hot chocolate drinking. Also, curling up in your ice cave throne.

Outerwear

One of the hidden advantages to the crazy amount of snow we've gotten this winter is newfound preschooler independence in dressing for chilly weather. Here Amity and her buddy Hannah demonstrate their snow pants putting on abilities. Two kiddos dressing is clearly twice as cute!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Some years, my birthday is awesome. This was not one of those years. Details aside, I still got to celebrate with my wonderful family, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream. Love you guys.

What happens at preschool...

Goodness knows what is going on in either of these pictures. Amity's having a great time at preschool, and that is apparent.

Fiddle Sisters

Amity doesn't (really) play the fiddle yet, but it won't be long now... with a big sister like Zara around.

Professional Development

While I was at school professionally developing, Wes and the kiddos spent some time doing their own professional development. Since their profession is being kids, they honed their skills through balance biking and pogo sticking.

Zara's 8th Birthday, observed very belatedly

To make a long story very, very short, we never got around to celebrating Zara's 8th birthday with her friends last summer. We had a family celebration, we celebrated with family friends who were visiting, and then she went to sleep away camp. Yadda, yadda, somehow half of third grade passed by and we found 2014 rapidly approaching. We figured if we didn't get a celebration in before Amity's 4th birthday, we were probably not going to, so we took advantage of an early dismissal over MLK weekend and had a fabulous slumber party with 3 of Zara's best buds. As a parent, it was actually a lot less painful than I thought it would be... and the girls had a great time.

Fire Truck

Wes texted me as I was on my way home from school "Don't be alarmed by truck." Turns out he was trying to reassure me because a giant fire truck was parked in front of our house. Still not sure why it was there, but the kids took this picture and there was great excitement. Your own personal fire truck to view out your living room window? How cool is that?
