Seven Years

For our anniversary, we all climbed up Humpback Rocks. As you can see from the sling I'm wearing, some of us did less climbing than others. But Zara did walk most of the way back down. I think our next hike we'll try a circuit of Ragged Mountain, maybe Zara will be able to do the whole thing.

Swimming Lessons

Zara had what is likely to be her last swim lesson for a while. And, she can more or less swim, so yay Zara. She's now certified to swim in the deep end of city public pools.

Snow Day

We've had 15 snow days so far this year, but this is the first one with snow. For a variety of reasons, they cancel school here if there's a prediction of the possibility of the chance of snow in any of the counties near Albemarle. Also, the City of Charlottesville? ... not part of Albemarle County.

Polar looks on while Zara, Kiera, and Claire master the slopes, such as they are.

Duplo Airliner

I'm not positive, but I think maybe Zara was flying to Scotland. You can see the plane, a fuel truck, and a push-back truck.

Is today a school day?

Zara loves school. So much so that the 2 week break was pretty difficult for her. This is despite calling in reinforcements from Aunties G and C for the first week, and then visits with the NJ cousins and the NYC aunties for the second week.

Zara also loves sensory tables of all kind, the one pictured here has split peas, I believe. She also likes to dress up. She also likes Georgia. All of these things were missing over the vacation. As can be seen here, she is extremely happy to have all of those things to wake up to each morning again. When she asked today "is it a school day?" and I calmly replied "yes," the shriek of joy woke up Polar (service dog who is nearly placed but we're hanging with for a bit, see an upcoming? following? post) and Wes, several rooms away. Welcome back!
