Cat Shirt

Some lovely BRIMS friends of ours have a slightly older than Zara daughter, so we are the lucky recipients of some pretty awesome hand-me-downs. Here's Amity modeling one of the t-shirts, telling us she knows these clothes are for Zara right now but that someday they'll be hers, too.

Amity Loves Preschool

These pictures have some of Amity's favorite things in them - playing with Amaya, playing with babies, wearing awesome outfits handed-me-down from friends, and cleaning/playing with water. In addition to the favorite things pictured are all those favorite things you don't see here, which I could go on and on about. There is too much. Let me sum up. Amity loves preschool.

Shavuot

For the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, the CBI kids wear their PJs to school. This is because it is customary on Shavuot to stay up late (studying). I think wearing PJs to school is just plain fun, too. The crowns of (real) roses were dreamed up and crafted by Mary. They adorned many a head of a Keshet kid, as they paraded around CBI singing (and snuggling stuffed Torahs, one of the cutest and most bizarre things about going to a Jewish preschool) and dancing.

Turk Mountain

To celebrate a beautiful (Mother's) day, we went for a hike at Turk Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Amity walked nearly the whole way (over a mile) up, though she availed herself of parental rides on the steepest parts. She walked some of the way down, but then climbed on my back and snuggled up in the Ergo and promptly fell asleep. This picture was taken at the summit, as we enjoyed a little lunch break. Hiking is tiring!

Naptime (with Babies)

Amity and Amaya also like to nap with their babies. I hear they play a lot of " with babies" at school...

Rainbow Shelf

Amity is in the Keshet (the Hebrew word for rainbow) class at school this year. All lined up on this little shelf/cubby space in the back corner of their classroom, she and her friends look pretty rainbow-like to me.

High Swinger

Amity loves swinging. She's getting pretty good at pumping all on her own. She sure does swing high, doesn't she?

Dancer

I meant to ask one of Amity's teachers about the story behind this picture. I think it's pretty clear she's performing for her classmates (she brought the tutu and ballet shoes in from home). This kid loves to dance.
