Skate World

The picture's a bit blurry, but it captures the scene pretty well. Auntie Clare took us all roller skating. Zara and Amity had never been on roller skates, and neither Wes nor I had been on the non-inline kind in a VERY long time. The roller rink was more or less stuck in time somewhere in the 80s, though some of the musical selections were contemporary (largely to our chagrin). Zara became quite proficient on skates and was able to make it around on her own, and didn't seem to mind the incredible amount of falling she was doing (much of it likely on purpose). Amity required a grown or two to help her navigate the rink, but she'd actually get going pretty well (when she wasn't trying to hang on us, knock us down, etc).

After a few hours of skating fun, Zara left with Auntie Clare for a sleep over while Wes, Amity and I went back to Gabi and Sean's house. It won't be long now (ok, maybe a few years, but still, she's very excited for it), before both sisters are slumber partying at Auntie Clare's house. (And thanks Auntie Clare, for being so awesome)
